Experiences in standardising energy efficiency projects to access secondary markets
The LAUNCH H2020 project aims to accelerate deal closure and pipeline growth for Sustainable Energy Assets through a set of standardised tools. This includes an investor-grade Energy as a Service contract, a standardised risk assessment protocol, a roadmap for project developers to access growth capital, and market-tested value propositions for project developers’ end-clients. The material was tested with a pool of project developers and investors that provided feedback on how to improve it for market readiness.
The PROPEL H2020 project builds on the development of the LAUNCH H2020 project and aims to ensure the finance and deployment of energy efficiency projects in the market. The LAUNCH standardised materials will be joined by further tools and templates and integrated into a single PROPEL eco-system that will represent the foundation for a newly created European centre of competence: the Sustainable Energy Finance Association. The PROPEL ecosystem will be deployed in direct cooperation with an existing group of European financial partners, partner banks, partner ESCO associations, engaged ESCOs and end-client representatives in a number of Member States.
